»AQUANAUTS: THE EXPEDITION« depicts the story and discovery of the eye-catching, beautiful and mysterious creatures ›Homo aquatis«. The exhibition provides insight into the astonishing research project from the turn of the last century led by paleontologist Beata Gardelius and geologist Inga-Lisa Blomgren. Aquanauts is in the borderland between show and exhibition and invites visitors into a marvelous world with life-size sculptures of these unknown primates. Visitors were able to take part in drawings, scent tracks, fossils, films, photographs, and personal diary entries from the expedition and the discovery of these previously unknown humanoid species. The exhibition was produced by a large number of creators with Pompe Hedengren as art director and creator of the sculptures.
