Tillsammans genom tiden

Exhibition
Historiska museet, Stockholm

What are the similarities between us and people who lived long ago - creating, travelling and meeting? The exhibition “Tillsammans genom tiden” at Historiska museet covers three rooms and was created over a period of only six months. A team of nearly 30 people worked together to design an interactive experience with well-chosen objects. Parts of Swedish Television’s giant programme 'History of Sweden' take place in what was previously an empty passage between exhibition rooms. The film is projected onto the elongated walls, creating an immersive film experience with dramatic music and natural sounds. In the next room, a bustling and welcoming marketplace contrasts with the quieter film experience. The tangible and the human encounter are in focus and can be expressed in written words by the visitors. A large wooden table forms the centre of the room, like a dining table in an extended family.

What are the similarities between us and people who lived long ago? How can we experience creating, travelling and meeting through time and space?

"Together through time is airy, with plenty of floor space between the interactive stations. (...) The result is successful, especially as a complement to the neighbouring object-heavy exhibitions. (...) Even more inviting is the medieval trading stall, where I reckon younger visitors can get stuck in for a long while. Eggs, onions, sausages, fish and apples in a charming wooden design coexist with pieces of leather, money bags and flour sacks." utstallningskritik.se
